Mark Lawrence Badayos ("Bads") is a Cebu lawyer and a founding partner of Badayos & Badayos Law.
Before establishing the firm, Bads worked as Senior Legal Counsel and de facto Head of the Corporate Legal Department at a renewable energy conglomerate in the Philippines. His responsibilities included handling general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, project development and finance, capital markets, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and real estate transactions. He also managed the conglomerate’s litigation portfolio.
Earlier in his career, he was an Associate at Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc & De Los Angeles, focusing on litigation, arbitration, general corporate law, project development and finance, labor, and real estate.
Bads is also a faculty member at the University of San Carlos, where he teaches Constitutional Law.
He placed third in the 2018 Philippine Bar Examination and was admitted to the Bar in 2019. He earned his Juris Doctor degree with a minor in Litigation and Advocacy from the University of San Carlos, graduating among the top ten students of his class.
During law school, he won a national debate title (ANC Square Off Season 13) and two world moot court titles (2016 Stetson International Environmental Law and 2018 Price Media Law). He also received awards for legal writing and oral advocacy in these competitions.
