Badayos & Badayos Law in Cebu City promoted Mel Joseph G. Castro to Underbar Associate on 21 September 2026. He had been a paralegal at the Firm since November 2024. He completed his Juris Doctor at the University of San Carlos in 2026 and took the 2026 Bar Examinations.

Mel Joseph had been a paralegal at the Firm since November 2024. He completed his Juris Doctor at the University of San Carlos in 2026 and took the 2026 Bar Examinations.

He represented the University of San Carlos at the international rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. in 2025 and 2026, and in September 2026 he placed third in the Dissertation Writing Contest of the Foundation for Liberty and Prosperity. Before law school he studied Political Science at the University of the Philippines, graduating Cum Laude in 2020.
